The Korean leading automakers, Hyundai Motor Company, is preparing to once again enter the Japanese auto industry through a new trailer rig.  The company has got focused plans for the year 2012, attempting at establishing a position for itself in the Japanese truck market by introducing a trailer rig.  Later, Hyundai has plans to introduce many other heavy duty trucks in Japan in future.  Hyundai discontinued selling passenger automobiles in Japan in 2009 after it suffered poor sales for 8 consecutive years.  Hyundai has now realized that the truck industry could be a far more worthwhile and profitable venture.  The company plans to add more heavy duty trucks to its Japanese portfolio in the near future.

Hyundai hopes to sell hundreds of units each year, as it managed to sell 50 coach buses last year. Such huge vehicles will be brought in into Japan from Hyundai’s Korean home base. This will ensure better and much more competitive costs. This will also help to offer after sales service through the local subcontractors.
